Donkey Kong

Welcome Back! I know I haven't Posted in a while, but I decided to commemorate my return by writing a post on one of my favorite games: Donkey Kong!

Basic History

Donkey Kong is a classic platformer game made by Nintendo, and released in 1981. The game is a rare example of a game named after its antagonist, as opposed to its protagonist. It was directed by the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto, who also did the game art. It was designed by Shigeru Miyamoto, and Gunpei Yokoi. The soundtrack was composed by Yukio Kaneoko.

Gameplay

You control a red-overalled character who started out unnamed, then was called jump man, then Mario.
Your character starts at the bottom of a series of diagonal platforms, and at the top lies the damsel in distress, named Pauline, who has been captured by Donkey Kong. You must make it up the platforms while dodging the barrels that DK throws. You can make this process easier by picking up hammers that will smash the barrels as they reach you. You can find these barrels at the end of certain platforms.

Trivia

  • I am not good at Donkey Kong
  • Some people think Jump-Man is Mario and Luigi's dad, this is wrong, Jump-Man IS Mario
  • Donkey Kong Rap from DK 64 is really good.
